Green Eggs & Ham...

The book of choice lately has been "Green Eggs & Ham"...and of course (I was waiting for it!) Adam asked me to make it for him! He's not a huge egg fan...and making them green didn't change that...but he did like the ham...I do I like it Sam I am!Doesn't it look so appetizing!

Movie Night...

Adam & Ava LOVE movie night! Daddy gets them all set up on the floor...with every pillow...and then it's time for popcorn...their favorite part...and wow, can those two eat a lot of popcorn! (Just like their Gramma!) They looked too cute (& very focused)...so I had to snap a photo...or 2!

Another Great Day in Vancouver...

Today we had the suburbian Olympic experience! There are several spots throughtout North & West Vancouver where they have set ups to come watch events on large screens with fellow Canadians, bands would play and of course, there were kid friendly activities...fun, fun!

Sarah & Kate just adore Adam & Ava...they love to do everything with them (which of course is a great break for Kev & I!)...and Adam & Ava adore them right back...so sweet!
Cirque du Soleil is coming to Vancouver...if they need it, I have 3 volunteers for them...

Riding the Seabus...
What a FABULOUS two days we had in Vancouver enjoying the Olympic spirit! Thanks Shell, Kevin, Sarah, Kate, Michael & Uncle Bill too!

Uncle Bill...

I love my Uncle Bill! Of my 4 Uncles, he reminds me most of Dad...I think they are the two that look most alike, they are certainly both goofballs, they both have a true love for their hobbies (Dad...gardening & Uncle Bill...woodworking/furniture building), they both love their politics & have no problem sharing it with you!, they both adore their families and they both have a real soft spot for their grandchildren (Carolyne even thinks they smell the same!).

So to say the least, I always love staying with my Uncle Bill! And as part of our usual routine, we took a morning hike up above his home...what a gorgeous Vancouver day it was...just stunning!

Off to the Olympics in Vancouver...

We just couldn't resist not heading to Vancouver to catch a little Olympic spirit...and Canadian spirit! Wow, everywhere you went, the Canucks showed their Canadian pride...it was very cool to see!

The big stop...the cauldron...between the fabulous weather & it being Sunday...the crowds were all around...very fun!

They had this chain link fence around the area (with a peeping hole)...which was a real bummer for photo opps...but, security first! They did have a viewing platform that was above all the fences and had a clear shot, but it was a 2 hour wait to get there...not a good idea with a almost 2 and 4 year old!

Of course the kiddos weren't in the mood to take pictures (see the first picture)...so Kev & I snapped our own shot...what you can't see is Ava standing by our feet crying to be picked up again...ha!
Our tour guides for the day...my cousin Shelley and her girls...Kate & Sarah. (You can see the viewing platform I mentioned earlier in the upper left corner.)
We stopped for lunch at a corner coffee & sandwich shop...they are known for the artistic finishes to their coffee drinks...we were quite impressed!
Robson Street was closed off with people...more specifically, Canadians EVERYWHERE! There were a couple of hockey games that day and this was one of the more noticeable fans! (I believe their two star players are twin brothers.)
In Yale Town...Yahoo! had a kid friendly stop where they could try on some gear...of course the kids loved that! And they were giving away free cow bells!...Those were great for the first hour!

And with big events come street vendors...we couldn't resist treating the kids to these fun animal hats...Kate the Raccoon, Adam the Buffalo and Sarah the Sock Monkey! (We preferred to call Adam..."Bison Boy")
We did A LOT of walking across downtown...so we thought we would take the Skytrain back...for the kids sake, of course! Bison Boy was VERY amused!
What a great day we had!

A Cupcake Social...

Happy Birthday Ashtyn & Chase...& Adam too! Today we headed north to celebrate 3 of the 5 Hurley cousins birthdays. It was a cupcake social...so the kiddos got to decorate their own cupcakes...and eat them too! (Notice Ava's tattoo...Kev put it there so she could see it, but it would still be hidden under her shirts...nope...since it's gone on, Ava always has her sleeve pushed up so she can see it at all times!)

A Great Day at the Zoo!

What a great day at the zoo...it was sunny & absolutely gorgeous! And even better...George, Clive, Mason & Chloe (& their Mommies Samar & Karissa, of course!) joined us for all the fun!

The walruses were extra playful today! They were loving the kids and the kids were loving them!

And Adam & Ava always love going down the "Otter" slide...wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Adam the Builder...

This morning Kevin, Poppy & Adam headed to Home Depot for their first (of many, I'm sure) "Kid's Workshop" to build, build, build! Adam's first project...a car display, of course featuring the #20 Home Depot NASCAR car...Nice job Adam! The Home Depot Kid's Workshop is GREAT! It is a free "How-To" workshop designed for kids to come build various projects. They get a free apron with their name on it and for every project they complete, they get a pin...very cool! Our Home Depot in Gig Harbor hosts it every Saturday, but on the "Home Depot" website, it is advertised as once a month...so be sure to check your local HD...happy building!

Happy, Happy Birthday Adam!...We love you! XOXO...Poppy & Gramma

Today Poppy & Gramma arrived to wish Adam a "Happy, Happy!"...Adam & Ava were SO excited! All the excitement wore Poppy out and he joined the kids for a nap...literally...Poppy on the bottom bunk & Adam on the top bunk! However, Adam came out and said he "couldn't sleep because Poppy was too loud snoring"! Ha!...it is the truth! Adam had to wait for Poppy to wake up to open his presents...or we can just go wake Poppy up!
A musical "Spider Man" card from Gramma...always a dancing hit!
Gramma giving Adam a hand with his fancy "Cars" box...what's inside?
It's a Jake jersey! Adam LOVES it! (And so does Daddy & Mommy!)
Thanks Gramma & Poppy! I love you!
And the very exciting "Bat Cave" from Tini, Bill & Carolyne...another hit!
Another great birthday for Adam!
